Link love
As the week winds down, I feel compelled to share some of my favorite foodie links that I’ve come across. Here they are, for your leisurely weekend perusal. Have a good one!
Over at Cakewrecks, I laughed ‘til my stomach ached while reading a post featuring all forms of the male form in cake. The photos are giggle-worthy, but it’s Jen’s comments that have me rolling.
Tens of things you might have not known about the crepe, according to food writer David Leite. It begins: “The crepe, which is about 800 years old, has made more comebacks than Cher and Tina Turner combined.” Love that line.
- Last week’s Cupcake Project post on Oreo cupcakes with a built-in cup for milk is completely edible — and completely genius.
- Weigh in on the waiter tipping debate on Frank Bruni’s Diner’s Journal (NY Times). Bruni makes a good point about what upping service staff wages would do to the prices on the menu.
- A recipe for savory basil and parmesan madeleines at Technicolor Kitchen. They just beg for some marinara to sop up!
- Lots of debate at Gourmet.com over Barry Estabrook’s piece that makes you think twice about the journey of your tomatoes from farm to table.
- And last, for cheese fans, a recipe and food-porn shots of a lovely mac and cheese from Food Gal, sprinkled with some words of wisdom.

Side note: March Madness is a month-long challenge in which I will post Monday through Friday for the entire month. I hope you will humor me in reading!

I LOVE THIS!!! The guy cakes and comments cracked me up…how lame that there aren’t any cakes that can do much for a woman’s appetite….I didn’t see any in a dildo shape, however…(oooppps! Can I type that here? )
And yes…the built in milk in that oreo cupcake? Genuis…I’ll have to show Steve that one!
