I think the effect varies with the person. Like I didn't taste lemonade when I tasted the lemons. But I sure did taste chocolate when I sipped the beer. However, I regret trying the Tabasco sauce so soon. While the berry made it taste sweeter, it still burned the heck out of my tongue and I think it neutralized the effect.
